I Tried Ganja Yoga And You Should Too!

I have to admit, I struggle with unwinding. My body, and my mind just seem to constantly be running. I often meditate, I journal and yet I am never satisfied in my quest for true tranquility. So you can imagine my excitement about attending Ganja Yoga held by Baam Yoga.

I admit that I have dabbled with Yoga my entire life. Never consistently, it has always been more so what I fall back on to re-adjust my mental state. I have never been a fan of cardio, or a fan of running, or really any exercise that requires drastic or constant movements. That is why Yoga has always been a sweet spot.

Yoga for Your Mental Health

People who are very active, in any capacity, often will tell you how it benefits their mental health. The same is true for Yoga. Not only is your body pushed to its limit, but so is your mind. You are really forced to become in tune with your breathing, your muscles, and every movement you make. And a lot of times, I feel like it really brings me face to face with my thoughts. It’s enlightenment through self awareness.

Yaz, Yogi and head of Baam Yoga, does a great job at transporting. Her voice is a calm channel that guides and transports us through different phases. It’s a unique experience peppered with raw energy and the occasional R&B song. Everyone in attendance was unison in their quest for higher elevation.

Ganja Yoga

Yaz, Yogi and head of Baam Yoga, is absolutely amazing. Her voice is a calm channel that guides and transports us through different phases. It’s a unique experience peppered with raw energy and the occasional R&B song. Everyone in attendance was unison in their quest for higher elevation.

Incorporating Ganja

From mats to prerolls, Baam Yoga really takes care of its attendees. In fact, the pre-rolls themselves were quite a highlight. Yaz handpicks the flower, and it paired wonderfully with the session. My high ass unfortunately did not write down what strain she used and so I forgot. But I promise, it was perfect for the experience. And I’ll tell you why.

Smoking has always amplified my body functions to me. I am painfully aware of the way I breathe, the way my joints move, the noises in my stomach. Somehow I become hyper aware of myself. This is true for my entire body, and I am one of millions of women who feels like cannabis enhances my sex life. So you can imagine the euphoria I experienced. Getting to smoke, and then immediately being consumed by the sound waves from her beautiful singing bowls. TMI Alert: it was damn near orgasmic.

A Spiritual Connection with my Body

Busy minds always want and seek and YEARN for peace. Hoping to one day silence the never ending responsibilities in our heads. I am so grateful for experiencing Ganja Yoga, it truly felt so natural for me. Cannabis has always been like a ritual for me, and seeing it combined so beautifully was an absolute joy. Surrounded by like-minded people, I felt all my worries melt away from my body.

Word of advice: really focus on your breathing. Allowing yourself to really feel your chest rising and falling, let yourself feel yourself laying on the mat, in the room, in the building, etc. Relax every piece of your body, as Yaz walks you through. You have to make yourself vulnerable. Let yourself be vulnerable!

Great for Beginners

Overall I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking to bridge the gap between their cannabis consumption and their connection to their own body. Yaz does a great job of going at a good pace, and Baam Yoga is always a safe space. Everyone around me was consumed in the class, while also offering words of encouragement and community.

That is what a good Yoga session is about, it’s about finding enlightenment in the environment provided. It’s about being in a space that promotes meditation and tranquility. A place where you can unplug and really tune out.
