If you’re a frequent flower roller, then you probably keep a grinder close for convenience. Sure, nothing beats breaking weed apart with your fingers. But sometimes the sticky residue on your fingers can be an outright inconvenience. I wanted to put together this quick handy guide for those moments when you’re left without a grinder. The Scissor Method
A quick stop at any dollar tree will yield you with a trusty pair of scissors. Use these scissors to cut up your weed into smaller chunks perfect for rolling. Smaller scissors would work better, and it's important that you’re careful. You can put the weed in a styrofoam cup so that you can just cut it up freely with no close calls.
Use a Knife
As crazy as it sounds, using a slightly serrated knife can prove quite effective when you need to break down your weed. Simply place it on a hard surface and hack away. It can get a little difficult to grip the buds, but if you just slice and dice freely you’ll have a better chance of a good consistency.
Wear a Pair of Gloves
The hands are still the best grinder of weed, and slapping on a pair of gloves can prove to be an easy solution for the sticky fingers problems. I would suggest medical style gloves, just be careful not to tear them with stems.
Squish It In The Bag
This is something that I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve done a few times. Usually when I wanted to smoke a blunt in between work meetings. Take the desired amount of weed and put it in the bag. Now squish and squeeze it through the bag so that it gets broken up. You’ll have to do it a few times, but it works. Definitely for those especially desperate moments.
