5 Ways to Have the “Weed Talk” on Dating Apps

Dating in 2022 is both convenient and terrifying! You have a million options at your fingertips, hoping one of them will make a good partner. Dating profiles, while always user friendly, still leave much to be desired. Especially when it comes to making a first impression.

In under 150 characters, we’re supposed to paint the best picture of ourselves. Describing ourselves in the best ways we can, leaving out all those red flags and flaws. Throw in being a cannabis consumer, and conversations can get downright uncomfortable.

As a cannabaddie, I always hope to portray myself as a productive cannabis consumer, but a cannabis consumer nonetheless. This means that many people will undeniably judge you as soon as they find out, so shouldn’t you want to weed out those with negative opinions? If you’re a regular cannabis consumer, you should want to let a potential partner know pretty early on.

Having “The Talk” About Weed

The “🍃” Emoji

With all of the cock -blocking on social media against cannabis, many have opted for creative use of the available emojis. One popular choice that represents it are the leaves fluttering in the wind. Strategically place this emoji in your bio for a quick, and unconscious clue.

The Medicated Babe

If you’re a med user then you really have nothing to be ashamed about! Med patients are the only ones who are allowed leeway in communicating this, as with any other prescription medication. Still I would recommend letting a potential partner know as soon as possible. Avoid an uncomfortable conversation ahead of time.

The Stoner Quote

Most dating profiles allow space for a tagline or quote. Opt for something funny like “Something good always happens at 4:20 for me.” or something flirty like “Just like weed, you make everything better.” Whatever you choose, make sure it is representative of your personality. Here’s another cannabaddie friendly quote: “Red eyes, big smile.”

The Job Blocker

If you’re afraid because of your job or profession, it’s ok to skip adding it into your profile. I do want to recommend that you let any potential match know early on about your consumption habits. Your job would probably be the only acceptable excuse, besides med patients, to not include it directly on your profile. Still, I would insist that your higher ups are probably not trolling dating apps to catch you in your consumption.
